Yumna Al-Arashi, 29, is a photographer and former New School student, who was first inspired to capture the relationship between sexuality and politics while studying for her degree in Social Inquiry.

After taking part in ASOS Supports Talent’s 2017 programme, the American gained industry fans which enabled her to exhibit her art project, Shedding Skin, at galleries in Los Angeles and New York. Since then, she's signed to IMG Lens and her work has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, and Vice, with Mailchimp recently commissioning her for its rebrand campaign in September 2018. After relocating to London, Al-Arashi has addressed various events, including a panel at Frontline Club about systemic sexism and sexual harassment in the photojournalism industry, and the Congress of the Worldwide Association of Women Journalists and Writers.
